Welcome to Melbourne Scooter Mechanic. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of our services, including scooter repairs, maintenance, and vehicle hire, available at our location in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

1. General Terms

1.1 Eligibility
All customers must be at least 18 years of age to access our services. For hire services, a valid driver’s license, issued in Australia or internationally, must be presented upon request.

1.2 Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our services, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

1.3 Payment Terms
All service and hire payments are due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.

1.4 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with these laws.


2. Repair & Service Terms

2.1 Service Scope
Melbourne Scooter Mechanic provides maintenance, repair, diagnostics, and accident repair services. Estimates are provided before commencing work, and all services are completed to the best of our ability and according to manufacturer standards.

2.2 Parts and Warranties
We use manufacturer-approved parts for all repairs and replacements. Parts warranties, if applicable, are subject to the manufacturer’s terms. Melbourne Scooter Mechanic does not assume liability for manufacturer defects.

2.3 Customer Authorisation
By leaving your scooter with us for service, you authorize Melbourne Scooter Mechanic to perform the specified repairs. Additional repairs will not be conducted without your approval.

2.4 Completion Timeframes
While we aim to complete services promptly, timeframes are estimates and may vary due to part availability or unforeseen issues.

2.5 Service Liability
Melbourne Scooter Mechanic is not liable for pre-existing conditions or issues that arise after the completion of authorized services. Customers must inspect the scooter upon service completion to ensure satisfaction.

2.6 Insurance Claims
We offer assistance with insurance claims. However, Melbourne Scooter Mechanic is not responsible for claim approval or rejection by the insurance company.


3. Hire Terms

3.1 Eligibility and Documentation
To hire a vehicle, you must provide a valid driver’s license, proof of identity, and a credit or debit card for payment. International licenses are accepted but may be subject to additional requirements.

3.2 Rental Period and Extensions
The rental period begins at the time of pickup and ends when the vehicle is returned to Melbourne Scooter Mechanic. Extensions are possible but must be approved in advance. Additional charges apply for late returns.

3.3 Insurance Coverage
All rented vehicles include basic insurance. The hirer is responsible for any excess charges, damages, or additional liabilities not covered by insurance, as specified in the rental agreement.

3.4 Vehicle Condition and Maintenance
All rental vehicles are inspected and serviced before hire. The hirer agrees to use the vehicle responsibly and return it in the same condition. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or prohibited use will result in additional charges.

3.5 Prohibited Uses
Rented vehicles may not be used:

  • For racing, stunts, or off-road driving.
  • By individuals other than the listed hirer.
  • In violation of local road and traffic laws.

3.6 Damage and Liability
The hirer is liable for any damage to the vehicle during the rental period. Melbourne Scooter Mechanic reserves the right to charge for repairs, parts, or replacement as necessary.

3.7 Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental. Refueling charges apply for vehicles returned with less fuel.


4. Cancellations and Refunds

4.1 Repair & Service Cancellation
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Melbourne Scooter Mechanic reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee for late cancellations.

4.2 Hire Service Cancellation
For rentals, cancellations must be made 48 hours before the pickup time. Late cancellations may incur a fee equivalent to one day’s rental charge.

4.3 Refund Policy
Refunds are provided for cancellations within the specified timeframe. No refunds are issued for completed services or late cancellations.


5. Liability and Disclaimer

5.1 Service Liability
Melbourne Scooter Mechanic is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from services rendered, including lost income, downtime, or other losses arising from scooter unavailability.

5.2 Hire Liability
While every effort is made to ensure the safety and reliability of our rental vehicles, Melbourne Scooter Mechanic is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from the hirer’s use of the vehicle.

5.3 Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures resulting from circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, accidents, or other unforeseeable events.


6. Amendments

Melbourne Scooter Mechanic reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
